Name: Protecting Intellectual Property in Your Small Business: Trademarks and Copyrights Lunch and Learn Seminar
Date: July 19, 2018
Time: 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM EDT
Event Description:
Building a strong brand is important to business success, and taking the steps to protect your brand is just as important.  This becomes even more relevant with the proliferation of e-commerce. By not securing your business name, logos, markings and original works of authorship, you leave yourself vulnerable to copycats or worse-forced to stop using a mark, change your product/business name or even pay exorbitant costs associated with infringement.

This presentation will help you understand when you should trademark or copyright and the process and benefits from trademark and copyright registration. Topics include:

· Understanding copyrights and trademarks and the differences
· About copyright and trademark infringement
· What can be trademarked
· How to determine if your trademark is available for use
· The trademark process
· What can be protected by Copyright Law
· The copyright process
